Speaker: Chad Mahan, MD

Title of talk: Hip & Knee Pain 101

Speaker bio: Dr. Mahan is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in reconstruction of the hip and knee, and he’s the newest team member at ValleyOrtho at Valley View. His extensive training focused on revision and complex arthroplasty, muscle-sparing anterior approach total hip replacement, robotic joint surgery, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Mahan is also accomplished in the orthopedic treatment of fractures, traumatic soft tissue injuries, and the treatment of failed or infected total joint arthroplasty.

Dr. Mahan completed his Adult Reconstruction and Hip Preservation Fellowship at the University of Utah in 2020. He excelled in his residency training at Detroit’s Henry Ford Health System after completing medical school at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. A scientist at heart, Dr. Mahan began his academic journey at the University of Denver where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and double minor in chemistry and medical physics.

Dr. Mahan grew up in Colorado Springs and Denver. He is a mountain biker, fly fisher and former ski racer.

Leadership Matters

4^th Tuesday of each month, 6:30 PM (this will be our club meeting for that week)

As a Rotarian, I am part of a worldwide organization of like-minded people doing good in my community and around the world.  As a Rotarian, I am by definition, a leader.

We are creating this monthly space in response to Rotarians that have requested an evening meeting time and to support the leadership development goal of our strategic plan.

Strategic Goal: Engage in leadership development for all members and establish a strong leadership role in the community.

Over this past year, we have learned to innovate and adapt.  We are stronger for flexing our “give-it-a-try” muscles.  And we are not done yet. Hmmm…the stuff of leadership. Be a part of making club history.  Join me and the several Rotarians who are championing this strategic goal.  This will be our club meeting for this week.
