Joseph Berninger, member of Ohio Pathways Rotary Club, is the founder and Executive Director of Cooperative for Education, Rotary’s partner organization in the Guatemala Literacy Project. Celebrating 23 years of service, the GLP is dedicated to “Breaking the cycle of poverty in Guatemala through education.”

Project Synopsis

The Guatemala Literacy Project is one of the largest, grass-roots, multi-club, multi-district, projects in the Rotary World. There are over 600 Clubs from 80 districts involved and the program currently serves over 55,000 impoverished children by providing textbooks, computers, teacher training, and scholarships.
